And upgrade! I did it pretty successfully. I lost a few plugins along the way, but I think most were pretty expendable…luckily, the important ones made it through the upgrade. Apparently there is something inheriently wrong with Mikey’s blog. I’m not sure, but I think his blog was what was hacked a few months back. I tried everything to get it back to normal, but his blog is still broken in appearance. I even tested out his template on my blog, just to see if it was his template causing the problem, but it was not the template. So, I deleted all the files and loaded fresh files up and still nothing any better than what I was getting before. I don’t quite get what went wrong with his blog. I may need to export the database info, delete the database, delete all the files and his domain and then reinstall wordpress, configure the database and import his posts. Thats the only solution I can figure from this point. His blog is not as nearly customized as mine, yet it is having issues. I was able to successfully upgrade the knit blog too. So, I think its safe to say that Grease for Peace will survive her upgrade as well. This is the last blog to upgrade software for. I wanted to save hers for last, because I am not the one using it and although she doesn’t pay for the space, because she is a very good friend of mine, I still feel responsible for upgrading her blog in a way that makes it painless for her to continue blogging.
I’ve decided that if I ever do go into business, I think I am going to be offering services to upgrade wordpress blogs as well as template design and all the other things I can do. I seem to be able to upgrade successfully without a whole lot of trouble, except for Mikey’s blog, but I think my plan will do the trick. I’m not in too much of a hurry with fixing his blog, because he more or less abandoned it and doesn’t care if I do anything with it. Well, thats about it. I’m still here and survived the Wordpress 2.6 upgrade. Onto Grease for Peace’s blog!

You’re welcome, use it as you want, no worries if you go months without posting…I do the same thing!
