Follow Your Passion and Even You Can Create an Internet Phenomenon

So, most of you may have seen this video…and if you haven’t you must be hiding under a rock! I am like one degree removed from the person who first put the Christian the Lion clips on the internet. She did not make this video (with all the music and the text and the story), but she did spark the internet phenomenon known as Christian the Lion by putting up the very first clips of him on youtube. I first saw this on Oprah (because I had been hiding under a rock) and I was balling my head off because it was so touching. For the record, it doesn’t take much to make me cry these days, but if it had been a year ago that I saw this, I would have probably still balled my head off. Anyhow, it is a wonderful video and everyone should see it, especially the people who are hiding under rocks…psst…its okay to come out now.

You may be wondering what one degree removed means. Well, lets just say that when you are trying to close a traumatic chapter of your life, sometimes you have to cut ties with people. When you have to cut ties with someone, it isn’t fair to only cut ties with them and talk to their siblings and their family. I know that firsthand, so I cut ties with everyone surrounding him, so that way we wouldn’t have this link of communication that we could send nasty messages through or to beg for me to come back. It was better this way. If I could have kept ties with her, I would have. She is a wonderful person and I always knew there were big things in her future.

Anyhow, when I knew her, she had this love of drawing and cats. She was also an advocate of all things animal or cat. If you put the two together (drawing and cats), even better. Anyhow, she is an amazing artist and could draw just about anything. Her passion was always drawing lions. She had pages and pages of lions and lion cubs, all beautifully drawn and sketched out. So, I guess the moral of the story is:

Follow your passion and even you can create an Internet Phenomenon.

And if somehow, she finds this blog, I’ve got a little note for her.

Lisa,

Congratulations on pushing these video clips through to so many people. It is a very beautiful and touching story. Best of Luck to you and your future. You will do great things in this life. Just keep on doing a great job of following your passion and never give up on your art, no matter how rough of a road it may be, you are going somewhere good. Stick with it! I may not be in your life at all anymore, but I’ll always be rooting for your success.

Laura

If any of you are able to find the original clips that she put up and this story touched you, please give her a shout out on youtube. Don’t tell her where you are coming from (I don’t want her brother going here and reading my blog…if he does, oh well, its a free country and all), just tell her how this story touched you.
